What is Bike Summer? Well, they've got a webpage and a blog to help figure it out. Basically, between June 3 and July 4, LA will be overtaken by cycle-freeks. Viva!

Speaking of bike week LA can we talk about the total lack of coverage of all things pedaled (besides peddling bad pop culture)in the nation's largest paper west of the Mississippi, The Los Angeles Times.
If you're interested in finding what's playing at the local cineplex 120 miles away in Palm Springs, or Santa Barbara, and San Clemente no problem. If you've heard rumors that one of the top stage races in the USA is taking place an hours drive from the Staples Center then you've been reading something other than the Times with your morning cup.
With due respect to all non-major sports, how is it the Times can find a meagre few inches in its ad-soaked sports section (16 Pages today) to announce events for men and women's college vollyball, college softball, college water polo(now there's a giant group of recreational athletes with lots of disposable income to burn the advertisers must be lusting after), but nary a word about the Redlands Classic.
While in San Francisco a few weeks ago I was able to follow daily coverage of the Tirreno-Adriatico and Paris-Nice races in their much smaller Chronicle.
Back here in the southland if I don't boot up my laptop, it's merely about los angeles of los angeles.
yeah and from what I could tell they didn't even give much press to the Track Worlds at ADT Center either. Punks. Next year is Tour of California. I'm sure they will blow that one too.
